NBC honored the 49ers pass catchers with the following image of the "YAC Bros," which in this instance is a fun play on Super Mario Bros. YAC, of course, means yards after the catch — something the 49ers' offensive weapons pride themselves on. The photo features tight end George Kittle and wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel.
Aiyuk, by the way, is leaping over a charging ram, much like the rookie receiver did during Week 4 against a Philadelphia Eagles defender.
After that game against the Eagles, Samuel welcomed Aiyuk into the club before sharing what gaining yards after the catch means to the 49ers' pass-catchers.
"I think Brandon is doing a great job," Samuel shared. "It's good to say that he's part of the YAC Bros now. ... It's just great to have another guy out there who can break tackles and go score.
"... I think it's more space for all of us because now you've actually got to cover the whole field with me, Kittle, and Brandon able to [avoid] tackles. You don't know who's getting the end-around, who's getting the screens, so it puts stress on defensive coordinators on how they gonna game plan us."
The "YAC Bros" hope to continue their success in the coming weeks. The 49ers will travel to Foxborough next weekend to face the New England Patriots and then play the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and New Orleans Saints in the weeks that follow.
