"We agreed to terms with Ziggy," Shanahan said. "Once he passes the COVID test(s) and everything, it should be official, and hopefully, we can get him in here for Wednesday practice."
Shanahan was asked what Ansah brings to the 49ers amid the several injuries the team has suffered.
"I played against Ziggy a ton," the coach responded. "He's a hell of a player who can rush the passer and play the run well. Hopefully, we get him in here soon and get him caught up. We were going to try to do it anyways, but the urgency of that has definitely gone up with some of the injuries that we've had in the last 24 hours."

The 49ers may also be without defensive end Dee Ford, who Shanahan revealed is dealing with a back injury. He was initially believed to have suffered a neck injury last week.
"Any time it's the back, that is an issue," Shanahan said. "We're still looking into that."
Defensive lineman Solomon Thomas also left Sunday's game with what is believed to be a knee injury. However, the 49ers await confirmation from MRIs for both him and Bosa. The MRI truck scheduled to arrive at The Greenbrier in West Virginia overnight broke down, forcing the team to send its injured players to a local hospital.
The 49ers are remaining on the East Coast this week, between their two games at MetLife Stadium.
