NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday that the 49ers hope to sign Austin, a longtime St. Louis and Los Angeles Rams wideout who spent the last two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.
49ers safety Jaquiski Tartt on Wednesday was asked what Austin can bring to the team.
"Somebody who can stretch the field," Tartt responded. "Very elusive. I feel like he's still got it, and he can help our team a lot, offensively and on special teams."
As for the other two receivers, the Indianapolis Colts made Moncrief a third-round selection out of Ole Miss in 2014. He has caught 204 passes for 2,561 yards with 21 touchdowns through his six NFL seasons and racked up 48 catches for 668 yards and three scores with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018.
The Arizona Cardinals made Nelson was a fifth-round selection out of UAB in 2015. He spent last season with the Oakland Raiders, where he caught four passes for 36 yards and a score.
Nelson had over 1,000 combined receiving yards and eight combined touchdowns with Arizona during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that San Francisco also worked out former Miami Dolphins and New York Jets quarterback Luke Falk.
