The whole operation appears to be hitting the road, according to Akash Anavarathan of Fourth and Nine. The Garoppolo-organized sessions are on their way to the Nashville, Tennessee area where tight end George Kittle, wide receiver Trent Taylor, and quarterback C.J. Beathard spend their offseasons.
Second-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who has been training in Houston, Texas with teammates Jerick McKinnon and Trent Williams, will travel to Tennessee to join Garoppolo for the throwing sessions.
The transition from one location to another should not be too difficult. Players still are not allowed to meet face-to-face with coaches or even enter team facilities amid continued COVID-19 concerns. All of the instruction from coaches, which usually takes place in the mornings, has been conducted virtually via Zoom video conference calls.
Garoppolo was taking that information, meeting with his teammates, and putting it into practice on San Jose State's football field.
"Really, out here, I like to hear how they're seeing things, too," Garoppolo told Matt Barrows of The Athletic last week. "I like to teach them a route, how I see it, and ask them, 'How do you see it?' Because in practice you don't get that time. Because out here, it's a unique experience. Guys kind of get to let loose a little bit, too. So it makes things fun."
H/t to Patrick Tulini for the find.
