Brunskill, 26, is entering his fourth NFL season (second qualifying season) and started seven games in 2019, including four in place of injured right tackle Mike McGlinchey. He also appeared in all three of San Francisco's postseason games.
The 49ers on Thursday informed last season's starting guard, Mike Person, that he is being released. It was later reported that the team had signed former New York Jets offensive lineman Tom Compton to a one-year deal.
The Falcons signed Brunskill as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State in 2017. He spent his two NFL seasons on Atlanta's practice squad before signing with the San Diego Fleet of the short-lived Alliance of American Football league in January of 2019.
The 49ers initially signed Brunskill on April 11, 2019.
