The San Francisco 49ers' two losses of the season were each by three points. The first was a Week 10 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The latest was Sunday's 20-17 defeat in Baltimore by the home-team Ravens.

The 49ers, now 10-2, know they don't need to hang their heads after the loss. The Ravens are a quality opponent, and the rainy conditions at M&T Bank Stadium made things difficult, not that anyone is using the latter as an excuse.


49ers running back Raheem Mostert had a career game, rushing for 146 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. That's 7.7 yards per carry, for those who don't want to open up their calculator app.

Mostert spoke with reporters after the loss and felt that the 49ers offense missed on opportunities that could have led to a win.

"They're an ACF opponent, you know? They've done a great job, so far, winning games, and coming out and doing their part," Mostert said. "Our offense, we were just beating ourselves. It's not like they were beating us down and stuff. We were beating ourselves, and those penalties, they started to add up toward the end of the game and get us out of field position, like you saw.

"We've just got to keep our heads up, like we've been doing these past several weeks. Even after the Seattle game, we only lost by three points. The same for this game. We only lost by three points. We've just got to keep it moving."

Mostert went on to say that the goal remains the same. Get to the playoffs and then the Super Bowl. If they do make it that far, maybe they'll see the Ravens there.
