Quick Notes
QB Jimmy Garoppolo remains interception-free in team drills during training camp. A few defenders have come close but haven't been able to haul in the football. The quarterback has thrown about 90 passes during practices so far.
The 49ers waived WR Max McCaffrey, who sat out practice on Friday for an undisclosed reason. The team signed former Texans WR Chris Thompson to replace him on the roster.
The 49ers also signed DL Jay Bromley and placed DL Kapron Lewis-Moore (groin) on injured reserve.
DB Jimmie Ward did not practice. He is being eased back from his collarbone injury.

Saturday's Practice Reports
The following are in the order in which they were posted or found.
Grant Cohn, Santa Rosa Press Democrat
The good and not so good from 49ers training camp: Day 7 (a.k.a. Dwelley Time)
Takeaways: Grant lists TE Ross Dwelley, TE George Kittle, CB Jason Verrett, WR Dante Pettis, WR Deebo Samuel, WR Jalen Hurd, WR Richie James, and QB C.J. Beathard as his "good" from practice. Garoppolo, QB Nick Mullens, LB Malcolm Smith, and even head coach Kyle Shanahan as his "bad."
Cam Inman, Bay Area News Group
49ers 'Gold Digger Program' not paying off on defense, yet
Takeaways: Carryover from last season? Interceptions remain scarce. The red-zone session was capped off by a 20-yard Garoppolo-to-Kittle pass to the goal line against LB Malcolm Smith. Dwelley had a nice catch on Garoppolo's first pass of team drills.

49ers' practice report: 'Bobblehead' Bosa continues strong summer
Takeaways: Malcolm Smith had good coverage on three notable plays but still allowed two completions on those snaps. Kittle outmuscled him during red-zone work to haul in a touchdown pass from Garoppolo, and RB Raheem Mostert caught a Mullens-thrown pass while sliding near Smith. Samuel beat rookie CB Tim Harris to pull in a Beathard-thrown touchdown pass during red-zone drills. Samuel had another chance on a Garoppolo-thrown pass, but S Jaquiski Tartt broke it up. K Robbie Gould made field goals of 25, 33 and 33 yards during team drills. CB K'Waun Williams had a would-be sack of Garoppolo on a blitz.
Matt Maiocco, NBC Sports Bay Area
49ers camp report: Kendrick Bourne coming on Day 7 in make-or-break summer
Takeaways: WR Kendrick Bourne had an impressive start during one-on-one red-zone drills. The Garoppolo-to-Kittle 20-yard touchdown pass against Malcolm Smith was Maiocco's offensive play of the day. Tartt's breakup of a Garoppolo-to-Samuel pass was nearly an interception, which would have been the QB's first of training camp. Verrett worked with the first-team defense with Sherman and Witherspoon out.

9 Observations from 49ers 2019 Training Camp: Aug 3
Takeaways: DBs Emmanuel Moseley and D.J. Reed rotated with the first-team defense. WR Marquise Goodwin beat tight coverage to haul in a Garoppolo-thrown touchdown pass during one-on-one red-zone drills. Richie James hauled in a Mullens-thrown touchdown during the same drills. Nick Bosa started team drills with a would-be sack of Garoppolo while going against T Shon Coleman.

49ers practice recap: Nick Bosa continues to impress coaches and teammates in camp
Takeaways: Bosa continues to impress. Hurd had some nice catches during the one-on-one red-zone drills. Samuel got some nice work in but his slow start could be good news for Bourne, who has impressed in camp. Garoppolo was 7-of-12 passing during team drills. Buckner was seen doing sprints, which could be a sign for a quick return.
