Quick Notes
Thursday was the first practice with an emphasis on red-zone drills, and the offense and defense seemed more evenly matched than some previous practices.
Injuries
Defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore sustained a "groin-type injury," according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner did not practice due to a mild toe strain.
Pass rusher Dee Ford (knee tendinitis) did not participate in team drills.
"Talking to him, it doesn't seem like cause for concern," Shanahan told reporters about Ford. "You can tell when you talk to a player, and he says it just happens about every camp."
Guard Joshua Garnett (finger) and running back Jeff Wilson (calf) continue to miss practice. Garnett had surgery on his finger this week and is expected to miss about three weeks. Wilson will miss one to two weeks, said Shanahan.
Running back Jerick McKinnon, center Weston Richburg, and tight end Garrett Celek remain on the PUP list.
Offensive lineman Mike Person had a veteran day off.
