The 49ers made Bosa the No. 2 overall pick in April's draft. Being sidelined the next few weeks means missing the remainder of OTAs and will likely miss the team's mandatory minicamp, which runs from June 11 through 13. That will be the last time players practice together before training camp kicks off in late July.
Bosa is one of two pass rusher additions for the 49ers this offseason. The team traded a second-round pick in next year's draft to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Dee Ford, who had a career-high 13 sacks last season.

"He works very hard," Ford said of Bosa this week. "He's a really good guy. You hate to see [an injury] for a rookie because he's really progressing, and he's going to be important for the defense. That D-line room, we're really starting to mesh."
Bosa racked up 17.5 sacks in just over two seasons with Ohio State. He and wide receiver Deebo Samuel are the only unsigned rookies from the 49ers' latest draft class.
