Buckner had a career-high 12 sacks last season. Ford racked up a career-high 13 with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. Bosa recorded 17.5 in just over two seasons with Ohio State.
Buckner joined KNBR on Thursday and was asked about his interactions with his new rookie teammate.
"The rookies have been working out with us this past week, and getting to know him the past couple of days, he's a really good dude," Buckner said of Bosa on the "Murph and Mac" show. "His work ethic is there. He's going to have a bright future. If he just puts the work in like the rest of us, he's going to have a bright future."
Bosa's past activity on social media has been the topic of much discussion, and Buckner was asked how everyone is dealing with the controversy which grabbed headlines leading to and after the draft.
"Honestly, none of that between the guys really comes up," Buckner said. "I judge him based off of my interactions with him in the past couple of days I've had with him, and he's been a really good teammate so far. That's what I'm basing my judgments off of from here on out.
"A lot of the guys, they've each had conversations with everyone on the D-line, and everyone's gotten to get to know him, and I think he's a solid dude and a great teammate. I'm very excited for him moving forward."
Buckner notes that even though Bosa was the No. 2 overall pick, the rookie still has to keep the refrigerator in the defensive line room well stocked.
