At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-3 and 189-pound Thomas had a 40-time of 4.44 seconds, a vertical jump of 39.5 inches, a broad jump of 131 inches, and eight reps in the bench press. Other measurables for Thomas include an arm length of 33 3/4 inches and hands that measure 10 inches.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com wrote the following about Thomas within his scouting report:
"When tape shows Thomas crowding up tight against receivers and stalling their release with his long arms and accurate punch, teams could start conceiving of ways to develop and utilize him as a pro, but his game simply isn't far enough along at this point. His lack of instincts and passivity in run support could be hard to work-around on the next level. With just three years as a full-time cornerback, it's fair to assume he will continue to improve, but he needs plenty of work and he must get tougher."
Tony Pauline of Draft Analyst wrote the following about Thomas within his scouting report:
"Thomas is a tall, physical corner with excellent timed speed and big upside. He flashed ability in different elements of his game but never pulled it all together in 2018. He should get consideration in the late rounds of the draft and offers possibilities as a bump-and-run cornerback and special-teams player."
