The Cleveland Browns already pulled off what could be the biggest blockbuster deal of the 2019 offseason when they traded for explosive New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., much to the disappointment of San Francisco 49ers fans.

They may not be done yet.


As part of the deal which included the No. 17 and No. 95 overall picks, the Browns also shipped their first-round pick in 2017, safety Jabrill Peppers.

Cleveland may have targeted a new safety, and once again, the Niner Faithful may not want to hear the news.

The Browns are reportedly "feeling good about their chances" of signing All-Pro safety Earl Thomas, the prize of free agency, according to a report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.


If the Browns can pull off a deal for Thomas, they will have upgraded the position all while acquiring one of the best receivers in the game and making a case for being the best team in the AFC North.

Will the 49ers get involved in the Thomas sweepstakes? The team has been quiet on that front so far after many assumed it would pursue the former Seattle Seahawk.


San Francisco was not quiet when it comes to improving its pass rush. The team pulled off a trade for Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford on Tuesday and then agreed to pay the pass rusher up to $87.5 million over the next five years. That was after coming to an agreement on a four-year deal worth up to $54 million with Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker and impending free agent Kwon Alexander.

All that and free agency hasn't even officially kicked off.
