After a few minutes, the alarm was cleared and the head coach continued with the press conference.
Below are the injury updates provided by Shanahan.
- RB Matt Breida — Shoulder. He should be alright.
- WR Pierre Garçon — Ankle. Shanahan believes he will be OK.
- WR Marquise Goodwin — Thigh and hamstring. Will be questionable this week.
- T Mike McGlinchey — Knee. Will be questionable this week.
- WR Dante Pettis — Knee. Will be out this week. Will be week-to-week after that.
- C Weston Richburg — Knee. Will be questionable this week.
- T Joe Staley — Knee. Will be questionable this week.
- S Jaquiski Tartt — Shoulder. Expected to return this week.
- DL Solomon Thomas — Shoulder sprain. Should be good to go.
Shanahan was asked if Staley's knee injury is the same thing he has dealt with in recent years.
"I believe so," Shanahan responded. "Same knee, same area."
Shanahan also said he doesn't expect cornerback Richard Sherman to play against the Arizona Cardinals, but nothing is certain this early in the week.
"I'm not expecting Sherman to be back, but I wouldn't put it past him," Shanahan said.
Safety Adrian Colbert did not start on Sunday despite being healthy. D.J. Reed started in his place. Shanahan said after the game that Colbert's lack of practice contributed to the decision to start Reed. Colbert has been dealing with a hip injury.
"I thought D.J. Reed did a good job in the game, an improvement from the week before, and I think he'll continue to get better with more reps," Shanahan said.
Where does that leave Colbert?
"I think Colbert will be healthier this week, which will give Colbert a much better chance to get his spot back," Shanahan responded. "We're one day into this (week). We'll see by Wednesday how much better he is. I expect Colbert to get out there eventually but D.J. got his opportunity because of health reasons and sometimes all guys need is an opportunity. We'll see how this week goes."
