Olivia's letter said the following:
"I love sports. I think it is so cool you are a girl and is in charge of football. One thing I think is so so cool is my last name is Sowers too. I love to watch you on TV. In fact, it is the first preseason game and I am waiting to see you. Me, my mom, and pop went to a game once. It would be my dream to see you in real life. I see you on my mom's phone all the time. You are amazing. Girl power. P.S. I love you."
Sowers took the time out of her day to reply to young Olivia with the following:
"Thank you so much for sending me a letter. I think that it is awesome that you love sports because sports can teach you so much about being a good leader and teammate. Continue to play sports for as long as you can. I miss it every day but I am thankful I had an opportunity to coach once my playing days were finished. You won't regret the time you spend playing sports.
"I also think it is so cool that your last name is Sowers! I do not meet people very often with that last name. Continue to be proud of your last name and where you come from. I hope to meet you at a game. I will be sure to do my part to make sure that happens. Keep being you!"
Sowers included a football card from her playing days with the Kansas City Titans of the Women's Football Alliance.
Below is Olivia's reaction to receiving a return letter from Sowers.
H/t to Kirk Larrabee of 24/7 Sports for the find.
