49ers rookies and veterans report to training camp on Wednesday with their first practice scheduled for Thursday.
McGlinchey's signing leaves second-round selection Dante Pettis as the only unsigned draft pick from this year's class.
The 6-foot-8, 315-pound McGlinchey has experience at both tackle spots during his time at Notre Dame. In three years with the Fighting Irish, McGlinchey started 39 straight games. With McGlinchey at left tackle in 2017, Notre Dame had the third-best rushing offense in the nation in yards per carry (6.25) and the seventh-best in rushing yards per game (269.3).
McGlinchey ranked as the nation's top run-blocking offensive tackle last season and the third-best overall.
Upon drafting McGlinchey, the 49ers promptly traded starting right tackle Trent Brown to the New England Patriots to move up 48 spots from the No. 143 overall pick to No. 95, where they selected Southern Mississippi defensive back Tarvarius Moore.
Thanks to the 2011 CBA, all rookie contracts are now for a length of four years. Only first-round selections come with an option for a fifth year, which applies to McGlinchy. Having set numbers for each spot eliminates the need to negotiate salaries and only leaves items like bonus payment terms, roster bonus allocations, and other miscellaneous structural items.
The total value of McGlinchey's four-year contract is believed to be $18,341,876, or very close to that amount, according to Over the Cap. That includes a signing bonus of $11,419,544 and a 2018 salary cap figure of $3,334,886.
