The 49ers were one of 14 NFL teams -- including the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams -- in attendance at Bryant's workout, as reported by Chase Goodbread of NFL.com:
It is rare for a player to be selected in the NFL Supplemental Draft, since a team that drafts a player will surrender its draft pick in the same round of the NFL Draft the following year. However, a number of prominent NFL players have entered the league through the NFL Supplemental Draft, including wide receivers Josh Gordon and Terrelle Pryor, as well as former 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks.
During his time at Mississippi State, Bryant was used in a variety of positions in the team's secondary, but the defensive back is projected to play safety at the NFL level. Players who enter the NFL Supplemental Draft become free agents if they aren't drafted, so while it's possible the 49ers' front office has a plan to potentially draft the MSU product, it's more likely the team is simply on hand to scout Bryant in case he becomes available as a free agent after the draft.
