Our friends over at 49ers Hub have the following screenshot from an Instagram post where a fan asked Bryant which team he wants to join.
"49ers," Bryant responded before promptly deleting the post.
Bryant previously expressed interest in joining an NFC East team, which would give him the opportunity to play his former club twice a year. He turned down a multi-year offer to join the Baltimore Ravens in hopes of finding a short "prove-it" contract that might result in a more significant deal down the road.
There have been no reports of Shanahan and the 49ers showing interest in Bryant. Although, the veteran receiver would give San Francisco something the team has lacked for years – a big red-zone target.
In a cost-cutting move, the Cowboys released Bryant, whose yardage total ranks fifth all-time in franchise history, on April 13.
The Cowboys made Bryant the 24th-overall selection out of Oklahoma State in 2010. During his eight seasons in Dallas, he registered 531 catches for 7,459 yards with a franchise-record 73 touchdowns. Bryant surpassed 1,000 yards receiving and 12-or-more touchdowns in three consecutive seasons from 2012 through 2014. During that span, he recorded 273 receptions for 3,935 yards with 41 touchdowns.
In 2017, Bryant caught 69 passes for 838 yards with six touchdowns but had a career-low 12.1-yards-per-catch average.
