The NFL preseason will kick off on August 2 with a matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Chicago Bears in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game. After that, the entire league will begin their exhibition play.
Below are the 2018 preseason opponents for the San Francisco 49ers.
Week 1 (Aug. 9-13): 49ers host Dallas Cowboys
Week 2 (Aug. 16-20): 49ers at Houston Texans
Week 3 (Aug. 23-27): 49ers at Indianapolis Colts
Week 4 (Aug. 30): 49ers host Los Angeles Chargers
The 49ers will open the 2018 preseason by hosting the Dallas Cowboys at Levi's Stadium before heading on the road for matchups against the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts.
The 49ers and Cowboys have faced each other at Levi's Stadium during each of the last two regular seasons. San Francisco is hosting the Cowboys in the preseason for only the second time since 1987.
The 49ers will play the Texans during the preseason for the sixth time and the first since 2016. The 49ers and Colts have only played each other twice in the preseason.
The finale against the Los Angeles Chargers was the only matchup already known prior to Wednesday. For 22 of the past 24 years, the 49ers ended their preseasons with matchups against the Chargers with both teams playing an exhibition game against each other for 31-straight years.
The 49ers and Chargers will play a regular season game against each other at the StubHub Center, in Carson, CA.
