The San Francisco 49ers will host a local pro day on April 18, according to Draft Diamonds. Attendees will have an opportunity to work out for the 49ers coaching staff, front office, and scouts. As of this post, the only two known participants are cornerback Yusef Sterling-Lowe of Texas A&M Commerce and quarterback Malik Watson of Dixie State.
The local pro day will feature athletes from college programs in the area including Stanford, Cal, San Jose State, and others. Draft prospects from the Bay Area who played for college teams elsewhere are also eligible to take part.
"It's just fun," general manager John Lynch said last year following the team's local pro day. "First of all, this week's been fun because you actually look out here and see players on the field and I've watched about as much tape as you can watch in a week, so it's fun to actually come out and see the thing live and in person ... I think as effective as film is, there's nothing like live and in person. So, we got a glimpse. It's hard to see everything, but you can see movement and all of those things."

The 49ers currently have nine selections in the upcoming draft, which kicks off on April 26 from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. In 2017, the 49ers hosted 43 players at their local pro day, which was a significant drop from the 67 attendees the year before.
