Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has broken down the four-year, $30 million contract (not $36.9 million – our previous stories have been corrected) handed to running back Jerick McKinnon by the San Francisco 49ers.

Below is the year-by-year breakdown of the deal, which at the minimum is a one-year, $12 million deal, according to Florio. The deal will be worth $16 million over the first two years.


2018


Signing bonus: $2 million
Base salary: $4.2 million (fully guaranteed)
Roster bonus: $5.5 million (due fifth day of league year; fully guaranteed)
Workout bonus: $50,000
Per-game roster bonus: $250,000 total

2019


Base salary: $3.7 million (guaranteed for injury at signing; fully guaranteed as of 4/1/19)
Workout bonus: $50,000
Per-game roster bonus: $250,000 total

2020


Base salary: $6.5 million ($2.6 million guaranteed for injury at signing; fully guaranteed as of 4/1/20)
Workout bonus: $50,000
Per-game roster bonus: $250,000 total

2021


2021 is an option year that must be exercised by the end of the 2020 league year.

Base salary: $6.9 million
Workout bonus: $50,000
Per-game roster bonus: $250,000 total
