Garoppolo received a $7 million signing bonus as part of his new front-loaded, NFL-record $137.5 million deal. On Valentine's Day, his $28 million roster bonus, which is due on March 16, became fully guaranteed, according to Field Yates of ESPN.
Garoppolo is set to receive $42.6 million in 2018, including the $7 million signing bonus. The rest is comprised of the guaranteed roster bonus ($28 million), guaranteed base salary ($6.2 million), workout bonus ($600,000), and per-game roster bonus ($800,000).
Garoppolo will reportedly count a whopping $37 million toward this year's salary cap. Of course, the 49ers had well over $100 million in cap space in 2018, so they can easily absorb that number, remain active in free agency, and have enough to sign their draft picks.
