Earlier today, Davis posted a video to his Instagram account showing the extraction process of marijuana.
"We will be producing some of the Highest Grade Medical and Recreational Marijuana products on the Market. Also, Dispensary-Lounge in Northern California, one of the first of its kind in America, " wrote Davis.
Last November, California voters passed Proposition 64, the Adult Use of Marijuana Act, which altered the state's marijuana law to allow people over 21-years old to use it in their private homes or a business licensed for marijuana consumption. It also legalized individuals to grow up to six plants and carry up to one ounce of marijuana.
Some provisions of the proposition became law after passage, such as using in a private home or residence and possession of up to an ounce of marijuana. The remaining parts of the law go into effect on January 1, 2018, including when the state can issue retail licenses.
A business wishing to sell marijuana, such as the dispensary lounge Davis mentioned in his post, is required to apply for a license to sell it for recreational use.
Nearly 14 million people voted on the measure, which passed with 57.13 percent of the vote.
The 49ers drafted Davis in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played six seasons for the 49ers, starting at tackle for 71 games including Super Bowl XLVII. After suffering a concussion during Week 11 of the 2014 season, he took the entire 2015 season off "to allow my Brain and Body a chance to heal." (sic)
Davis returned to the 49ers in 2016 but suffered another concussion during practice. He retired from the NFL on September 26, 2016.
