While all eyes have been on new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo during practices this week, rookie C.J. Beathard is preparing for his third NFL start. The 49ers are hoping to put together a serviceable offensive line, which has been decimated by injuries, in front of him.
Left tackle Joe Staley, who sustained a fractured orbital bone against the Philadelphia Eagles, is not expected to return until at least after the bye week. Starting right tackle Trent Brown missed Sunday's game due to a concussion he suffered the week before. Brown fully participated in Wednesday and Thursday's practices and looks on track to play on Sunday.
Guard Brandon Fusco (biceps) sat out his second day of practice this week, as did wide receiver Pierre Garçon (back).
Linebacker Reuben Foster continues to participate in practice this week. Although, he is doing so in a blue no-contact jersey. He is attempting to return from a rib injury that forced him to miss the game against Philadelphia.
Below are the official Thursday practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Cardinals, as provided by the 49ers Communications department.
