The San Francisco 49ers remain winless after losing their seventh-straight game – this time to the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys routed the 49ers 40-10 at Levi's Stadium. San Francisco dropped to 0-7 while Dallas improved to 3-3.

Below is a mix of some key player stats and milestones provided by the 49ers Communications staff and Pro Football Focus.


Key Player Statistics


Rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard made his first career NFL start and completed 22 of his 38 passing attempts for 235 yards and no touchdowns. His 235 passing yards are the most by a 49ers rookie quarterback in his first career start. The record had previously been held by Tom Owen who passed for 206 yards against the Oakland Raiders in 1974. Owen threw two touchdowns and two interceptions in that game.

Beathard also carried the football five times for 30 yards rushing and a touchdown. He was under pressure on 19 of his 45 pass dropbacks. Only five of Beathard's 38 attempts were for 10-or-more yards. He completed three of those passes for 81 yards.

"They brought a lot of pressure, Sam, Mike," Beathard said following the game. "I guess that was one of their game plan things. Their deal was to bring a lot of pressure which we hadn't seen them do much of."

Rookie tight end Cole Hikutini had his first career reception on a 5-yard pass from Beathard.

Running back Carlos Hyde averaged 3.4 yards after contact and tied a season-high four missed tackles.


The 49ers defense was only able to pressure Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott on six of his 26 dropbacks. Prescott was 14 of 19 passing for 202 yards, 3 touchdowns, and a 147.4 passer rating when not pressured.

Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner had a quarterback hit, one hurry, two passes defensed, and two run stops.

"Watching film, we noticed that if we couldn't get there or he was doing a quick three-step drop, he's going to let the ball out fast," Buckner said following the game. "We noticed that he had a lot of tipped balls by defenders. My whole thing was if I couldn't get there, then put my hand up. That's what I did the first drive. I got lucky and got back-to-back bats."

Rookie defensive end Solomon Thomas was nearly invisible during the game. Pro Football Focus reported that he did not have a tackle or a quarterback pressure. Although, the official NFL stat sheet credited him with a tackle.

Two 49ers newcomers had some significant playing time against the Cowboys despite having just signed five days earlier. Defensive tackle Leger Douzable had 47 snaps while defensive tackle Tony McDaniel had 25.


Cornerback Rashard Robinson allowed just one reception on passes thrown his way. However, he committed two penalties which gave him eight during the last five games.

Milestones


Wide receiver Pierre Garçon had five receptions for 49 yards against Dallas, which put him at 602 receptions for his career. That total ranks seventh among all active receivers.

Tackle Joe Staley started his 150th career game for the 49ers.
