The San Francisco 49ers are headed into an October 22 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys at Levi's Stadium. Rookie C.J. Beathard will be the starting quarterback when the 49ers offense takes the field in front of the home crowd, which has been clamoring for a change at the position all season -- and most of the offseason.

The Cowboys may be without star running back Ezekiel Elliott, but that doesn't mean Las Vegas oddsmakers are suddenly liking the 49ers' chances in the game. As of Monday morning, the Cowboys are six-point favorites, according to Yahoo! Sports, and anywhere from four- to six-point favorites based on various casinos and betting sites. The over/under for Sunday's game is listed at 47 points.


Last Thursday, Elliott had his six-game suspension reinstated by a federal appeals court and, as of Monday morning, that suspension was still in place. If the decision stands, Sunday's game against the 49ers will be the first of the six games that Elliott must sit out.

The 49ers have lost five-straight games by three-or-fewer points and a combined 13 points. On Sunday, San Francisco fell 26-24 against the Washington Redskins. The Cowboys, who are coming off of their bye week, last played on October 8 when they fell 35-31 to the Green Bay Packers.

The Cowboys have won four of the last five matchups against the 49ers, including a 24-17 victory at Levi's Stadium last season. The 49ers' last victory against the Cowboys came on September 7, 2014, at AT&T Stadium. The 49ers won the game 28-17.

The 49ers and Cowboys kick off at 1:05 p.m. PT on Sunday.
