The regular season schedule is always released prior to the NFL Draft. While the NFL has not yet officially announced a release date, Detroit Lions president Rod Wood may have let the date slip while debuting his team's new uniforms this week.
Wood was asked what's next on his agenda. "I don't have anything else other than getting this renovation done," he said. "That's the thing I got to focus on getting done before the season starts. The schedule coming out next Thursday will be a focus, too."
If Thursday is the official release date, it would come just one week prior to the start of the draft, which kicks off on April 27 in Philadelphia.
Last year, the NFL schedule also dropped on a Thursday while the year before, it was announced on a Tuesday. Each year, it debuts with a special on NFL Network which breaks down the games for each team.
The 49ers will be kicking off their third straight season with a new coaching staff. Kyle Shanahan was hired a day following the Super Bowl while general manager John Lynch took over the front office on January 29.
Below is a list of the 49ers' 2017 opponents, which has been known since December.
Home: Cowboys, Giants, Jaguars, Titans, Panthers, Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks
Away: Eagles, Redskins, Texans, Colts, Bears, Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks
