Why Fred Warner loves Nick Sorensen as 49ers' defensive coordinator
By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers' decision to hire Nick Sorensen as the defensive coordinator, replacing Steve Wilks, may have surprised some within the media. However, for star linebacker Fred Warner, it was a fantastic move. Given Sorensen's familiarity with the system, Warner expects the defense to benefit from the continuity, having been part of the 49ers' coaching staff since 2022.
"Nick's great, man," Warner recently told NFL Network's Steve Wyche and Judy Battista. "I love the hire. Nick has been a part of this organization for a couple of years now and has been heavily involved with the linebackers, and he's played the game for a long
Brandon Staley gains deeper appreciation for Nick Bosa since joining 49ers

Brandon Staley has transitioned from working with one Bosa to another. As the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, he worked with four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Joey Bosa. Now, he gets to work with Joey's younger brother, Nick Bosa, who also boasts four Pro Bowl selections and a first-team All-Pro nod in 2022.
Staley joined head coach Kyle Shanahan's staff and will serve as the assistant head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. Speaking to reporters last week, he expressed his admiration for the Bosa brothers and considers himself fortunate to work with both.
"I think having to face Nick, you know what a challenge he is," Staley said. "And I've coached Khalil Mack, Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, Leonard Floyd, and Nick's always a guy that we would watch. And I
49ers DB coach praises Deommodore Lenoir's big mental leap

The San Francisco 49ers hold defensive back Deommodore Lenoir in high regard. The team values versatility, and Lenoir has demonstrated to his coaches that he can be relied upon in various roles throughout the secondary. Whether lining up inside or outside, Lenoir's adaptability and consistent performance have made him an invaluable asset to the defense.
49ers defensive backs coach Daniel Bullocks believes Lenoir made a significant mental jump as a player last season, and the analytics back that up. Lenoir's 75.8 overall grade and 74.3 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus were career highs. Opposing quarterbacks had an 86.9 passer rating when throwing his way.
"I say, mentally, he made his biggest jump [last year]," Bullocks told reporters last week. "I think
