Pro Football Focus' Trevor Sikkema unveiled his latest mock draft this week and has the San Francisco 49ers addressing the offensive line. Specifically, Sikkema suggests the team seeks a potential replacement for Colton McKivitz at right tackle.

In Sikkema's projection, the Niners select former Georgia offensive lineman Amarius Mims with the No. 31 overall pick. The analyst views him as an ideal addition to an offensive front that was untouched in free agency—apart from ensuring continuity among last season's starters.

"Mims has one of the craziest builds you will have ever seen — in a good way — at 6-foot-8 and 340 pounds," Sikkema noted. "His talent and potential are too good to escape the first round. He also played right tackle in college, which aligns with a potential starting spot for the Niners."

Given San Francisco's primary focus on the defensive line during free agency, addressing offensive line concerns through the draft is anticipated. That could include right tackle.

McKivitz was inconsistent for the 49ers while anchoring the right side of the offensive line, opposite Trent Williams. He allowed a team-high 59 pressures and nine sacks in 696 pass-blocking snaps last season, including the postseason.

In contrast, Mims achieved an impressive 81.2 pass-blocking grade in the past season, marking a career-high. While he played only 168 pass-blocking snaps, the incoming rookie allowed just one pressure in 2023 and a total of six in his three seasons with the Bulldogs.

Mims, towering at 6-foot-8 and weighing 340 pounds, demonstrated remarkable athleticism with a 40-yard dash time of 5.07 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis—an impressive feat considering his size.

The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place in Detroit, Michigan, from Thursday, April 25, through Saturday, April 27.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic contacted Samuel to inquire about his thoughts on the 49ers drafting a potential replacement and the reports of the team exploring trade options for him. "I know what's going on, but it is what it is," Samuel told Russini. "I'm good staying with them. I'm

Daniel Jeremiah's final mock draft has 49ers adding another weapon for Brock Purdy

By David Bonilla
Apr 24

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah unveiled his fourth and final mock draft, projecting the San Francisco 49ers to select Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy with the No. 31 overall pick. While many anticipated the 49ers bolstering their offensive line in the first round, Jeremiah's choice may raise eyebrows. However, with seven offensive tackles already off the board, he opted to provide third-year quarterback Brock Purdy with another explosive target. "This is my favorite fit in the first round," Jeremiah explained. "We saw what Tank Dell did in a similar offensive system with Houston, and we know what Mike McDaniel has been able to build with so much
