Each week leading to the draft, we'll look at a collection of mock drafts from various sources and compile the list of the top prospects projected to head to the 49ers.

We surveyed 68 online mock drafts this week and tallied which prospects are the most popular choices for the San Francisco 49ers, who currently own the No. 2 overall pick in next month's draft. The mock drafts include big-name sites like ESPN and NFL.com to smaller independent sites.

Despite the recent discussion surrounding former Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams being a strong option for the San Francisco 49ers at No. 2 overall, former Ohio State edge rusher Nick Bosa remains the overwhelming favorite for the team. Nearly 71 percent of the online mock drafts surveyed have the 49ers selecting Bosa with their top pick.

Below are the top-ranked projections for the 49ers among the mock drafts we examined.

Rank 49ers' Pick
48 Mock Drafts Nick Bosa, Edge, Ohio State
11 Mock Drafts Josh Allen, Edge, Kentucky
8 Mock Drafts Quinnen Williams, DL, Alabama
1 Mock Draft Rashan Gary, DL, Michigan

Below is a mock-draft breakdown for the 49ers' selection at No. 2 overall.

By David Bonilla
Apr 25

Mock draft season has drawn to a close, with NFL Media analysts Charles Davis (here) and Daniel Jeremiah (here) submitting their final projections yesterday. Several other media members have since unveiled their last mock drafts, presenting the San Francisco 49ers with various potential scenarios. Predicting the 49ers' actions in the first round is challenging due to the 30 selections preceding theirs. Their draft strategy hinges on events leading up to their turn on the clock. As the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off tonight, here's a rundown of what the 49ers are projected to do at No. 31 overall in some of

49ers add potential Trent Williams successor in latest NFL.com mock draft

By David Bonilla
Apr 23

Trent Williams will be 36 at the start of the 2024 NFL season. While retirement isn't on his mind just yet, the San Francisco 49ers must consider a succession plan for left tackle. NFL Media's Bucky Brooks unveiled his final mock draft, projecting the San Francisco 49ers to select former Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan with the No. 31 overall pick as their eventual replacement for Williams. "With Trent Williams entering the twilight of his career, the 49ers have to find an eventual replacement on the edge," Brooks noted. "Morgan is a sound blocker at the point of attack with diverse skills

7-round mock draft from The Athletic sees 49ers fortifying defense early

By David Bonilla
Apr 17

Analyst Dane Brugler recently revealed his seven-round mock draft for The Athletic, forecasting all 257 selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, set to kick off next week. "Piecing together a mock like this is time consuming, but I enjoy the exercise, because it allows me to focus on each team's needs, organizational trends and prospect-team pairings that make sense based on '30' visits, league buzz and overall interest," Brugler wrote. Most expect the 49ers to address the trenches early in the draft, and Brugler has the team doing that. It's just not on the offensive side of the football. In fact, Brugler doesn't have San Francisco

7-round mock draft: 49ers trade up to fortify secondary

By David Bonilla
Apr 19

The San Francisco 49ers first selection in next week's draft comes at No. 31 overall. However, NFL Media analyst Chad Reuter doesn't have the Bay Area team remaining at that spot in the first round. In his seven-round mock draft, he envisions the 49ers striking a deal with the Green Bay Packers to move up six spots to No. 25 overall, where they select former Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry. Reuter notes, "Whether it's for a cornerback like McKinstry, an offensive lineman or a receiver, the 49ers could very well give up a mid-round pick to acquire one of the few missing pieces on an otherwise potent roster." The rest of the mock draft reveals at least part of the
