Upon Further Review - Video Podcast #6: If at First You Don’t Succeed, Maybe Losing Is Just Your Style

Oct 29, 2015 at 5:16 AM

Last week, the 49ers got smoked like a cheap cigar...again...by the Seattle Seahawks. In their own house. On a Thursday night. On national TV.

Ugh.

This week, AJ is flying solo, answering your questions and providing what insight he can into the 49ers (many) problems:

And as always, UFR gives you our official picks for the week (for entertainment purposes only, of course):

'I just don't want this to end anytime soon': Jimmy Garoppolo's final chapter with 49ers isn't over yet

By David Bonilla
Jan 10

Earlier this season, Jimmy Garoppolo didn't want to close the door on a possible return to the San Francisco 49ers in 2022. Most believe the team will unload the veteran quarterback and his hefty salary and transition to the No. 3 overall pick in last year's draft, Trey Lance. "Honestly, with the possibilities, I try not to close any doors too early," Garoppolo said in November. "It's one of those situations, you've just got to let it play out, I think. We've got a lot going on with the season and everything right now. If you start thinking about those other things, you just get distracted, I think. But when we cross that bridge, we'll assess everything

49ers' Deebo Samuel to Kyle Shanahan before TD run vs. Cowboys: 'Just give me the ball. I got you.'

By David Bonilla
Jan 16

Deebo Samuel has become a very confident player for the San Francisco 49ers. He is willing to do whatever it takes to get the football in his hands and make a play. Samuel is a wide receiver but lines up as a running back too. He led the 49ers with eight rushing touchdowns this season. Samuel had another rushing touchdown during Sunday's 23-17 playoff win against the Dallas Cowboys. That one was impressive, as it involved Samuel improvising on the play and turning back inside to get into the end zone. That wasn't how the play was drawn up, by the way. How did Deebo even find this hole? 😱

Fred Warner on 49ers-Rams: 'If we don't come to play, they're going to embarrass us'

By David Bonilla
Jan 6

Week 18 is a make-or-break game for the San Francisco 49ers. If they beat the Los Angeles Rams, they are in the playoffs. A loss, combined with a New Orleans Saints win, ends their season, and they can kiss the postseason goodbye. The Rams haven't beaten the 49ers since 2018. San Francisco has won five straight, but no one assumes that it will become six straight on Sunday. Those last five contests mean nothing once the division rivals take the field at SoFi Stadium. "They are an outstanding football team," linebacker Fred Warner said of the Rams on Wednesday. "They are literally one of the best teams in the NFL right now. They're in that top-three, top-five conversation. If we don't come to play, they're going to embarrass us. That's how I'm looking at it.
