Tarell Brown selection an interesting pick

Apr 29, 2007 at 10:56 AM--

CB Tarell Brown of Texas is an interesting pick because at first glance, he does not appear to a "Nolan Guy" type of player.

However, Matt Maiocco of the Press Democrat states that Brown came in to visit the 49ers a couple weeks ago and that Scot McCloughan said that the team was satisfied with the background check that was completed.

Kyle Shanahan on 49ers rookie Ji'Ayir Brown: "It feels like we got the right guy"

By David Bonilla

Ji'Ayir Brown has seen most of his workload come on special teams. Although, the rookie safety has played 13 snaps with the San Francisco 49ers defense over the last two games after playing none in the first two. The coaches appear to be easing the young defender into the thick of things. Brown is expected to eventually take over for Tashaun Gipson, the 33-year-old veteran who flirted with retirement this offseason. That would mean eventually pairing Brown with young All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga, creating an intriguing tandem in the defensive backfield. The San Francisco 49ers handily defeated the New York Giants in Week 3, winning 30-12 to improve to 3-0 on their season, scoring over 30 points for the third consecutive week of the season. Despite the comfortable win, the 49ers were nowhere near the "A-Game" offensively, struggling on some early drives and kicking field goals when touchdown opportunities were present, ultimately showcasing how dangerous this offense could be. While there were missed opportunities present last Thursday, another element that the 49ers were missing was emerging wideout Brandon Aiyuk, who was inactive due to a shoulder

By Rohan Chakravarthi

The San Francisco 49ers have dominated through three games this season, outscoring opponents 92-42 en route to a 3-0 record, which only has been matched by two other teams in the NFL thus far. Through three games, the 49ers have started strong, forcing opponents to implement more of a pass-heavy approach, while their opponents haven't been strong rushing teams as well. In Week 1, the Pittsburgh Steelers threw the ball 46 times, rushing just 10 times in a 30-7 loss to San Francisco. The Los Angeles Rams had 55 passing attempts and 22 rushes in Week 2, while the New York Giants had 33 passing attempts to 11 rushes in Week
