Tarell Brown selection an interesting pick

CB Tarell Brown of Texas is an interesting pick because at first glance, he does not appear to a "Nolan Guy" type of player.

However, Matt Maiocco of the Press Democrat states that Brown came in to visit the 49ers a couple weeks ago and that Scot McCloughan said that the team was satisfied with the background check that was completed.

Mac Jones is not the third-best quarterback on Mel Kiper's big board. He's not the fourth-best either. According to the ESPN analyst, the former Alabama quarterback is the fifth-best quarterback, but he could be the third player to come off the draft board on April 29. The 2021 NFL Draft is just two weeks away, and the San Francisco 49ers own the No. 3 overall pick. If Kiper had to put a percentage on the chances of each of the three quarterback prospects expected to be available at that spot landing with the Bay Area team, he would say 80 percent to Jones, 15 percent to Justin Lance of North Dakota State, and five percent to Justin Fields of Ohio State. There is a rumor from Cecil Lammey of The Fan 104.3 and Football Guys that the New York Jets turned down a first-round pick offered by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this offseason for quarterback Sam Darnold (h/t to Matt Audilet of The Spun). Of course, this was when the Niners sat at No. 12 overall, before trading up last month to the No. 3 spot. What on Earth would keep Joe Douglas and company from jumping at an offer like that? Lammey states that there were some concerns surrounding Zach Wilson's shoulder, and the Jets wanted to wait until the former BYU quarterback's pro day to evaluate the shouder's status. Wilson's pro day was on March

The 2021 NFL Draft is a three-day event from April 29th to May 1st that will be hosted in Cleveland, Ohio. A select number of draft prospects will be invited to Cleveland to walk across the stage and shake hands with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The NFL Draft will also feature draft prospects participating remotely across the country. Last month, the 49ers arguably made their most aggressive move since trading Joe Montana, as they gave up multiple picks to jump from No. 12 to No. 3 in this year's NFL Draft. The first Mock Draft Roundup I compiled of analysts' projected picks for San Francisco featured primarily defensive players, but NFL pundits have now
