Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Buccaneers are nearing a deal that will pay RB Doug Martin $6.85 million per year.

Earlier today, it was reported that the San Francisco 49ers were one of the teams interested in acquiring Martin. Martin grew up in the Bay Area, being born in Oakland and growing up in Stockton.

Martin, a first round selection out of Boise State in the 2012 NFL Draft, has 3,806 rushing yards for 20 rushing touchdowns over his career. He also has two receiving touchdowns on 106 receptions for 873 yards. He has been to the Pro Bowl twice (2012, 2015) and was named a First-team All-Pro last year. Martin rushed for 1,402 yards last season with Tampa Bay, second only to the Minnesota Vikings' Adrian Peterson.

The 49ers may still pursue another running back in free agency to compliment Carlos Hyde, who missed nine games last season with a broken foot. They may also look to the NFL Draft for another running back. After all, the 49ers have drafted a running back every year since 2009.

At the start of free agency, the San Francisco 49ers signed defensive end Leonard Floyd to a two-year deal worth $20 million, with $12 million guaranteed. It has been the team's most significant offseason move thus far. OverTheCap.com recently revealed Floyd's contract details. Floyd's impact in 2024 is minimal. He is scheduled to earn a guaranteed $1.21 million base salary and count only $3.418 million against this year's salary cap. The following are the details of Floyd's

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers are actively working to sign wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to a contract extension, aiming to maintain their talented young core of players. The team has reached agreements with star players during each of the last four offseasons, securing George Kittle in 2020, Fred Warner in 2021, Deebo Samuel in 2022, and Nick Bosa in 2023. Another key contributor poised for a new deal next offseason is quarterback Brock Purdy. Over the last couple of years, the 49ers have been in the unique position of not having to pay much money (relatively) to stock their quarterback room while reaping the benefits of superb play from their starting signal-caller. However,
