49ers hire Dana Bible as senior advisor

Feb 17, 2016 at 3:24 PM--

According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, the San Francisco 49ers have hired Dana Bible as a senior advisor under new head coach Chip Kelly's staff.

Bible and Kelly are close friends and have often bounced ideas off of each other in the past. "Kelly and Dana Bible liked to talk football. Their conversations always drifted toward X's and O's, and the animated, Northeastern-bred coaches would often act out the plays they crafted in their heads," said a Philly.com article by Jeff McLane in September of 2015.

Bible has experience as a college assistant and NFL coordinator. He served as the quarterbacks coach for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1990 until 1992 and was the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998. Among the college ranks, Bible served as the offensive coordinator at Boston College, Miami of Ohio, NC State, and Stanford. He was even the interim head coach for NC State in 2012.

Bible has coached a few prominent names throughout his career, most notably Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who he coached at Boston College.

49ers GM John Lynch says team will do everything it can to keep FB Kyle Juszczyk

It's possible that fullback Kyle Juszczyk has played his final game in a San Francisco 49ers uniform, but if that proves to be the case, chances are the team will put up a fight before letting it happen. The pending free agent status of Juszczyk was one of many topics discussed during the 49ers' year-end media sessions on Monday, with both Juszczyk and general manager John Lynch issuing comments on the subject. Juszczyk was visibly and audibly emotional when talking about the possibility of his time coming to an end, saying, "It hits a little bit harder when it's reality and it's right here in your face. It's definitely hit me a little bit different this week." The 49ers face a tough reality this

John Lynch expects to keep Fred Warner, calls linebacker a 'big part of the fabric' of the 49ers

By David Bonilla
Jan 4, 2021

San Francisco 49ers fans started to get a little worried last year as the season drew closer and All-Pro tight end George Kittle still didn't have a contract extension. That all got resolved around mid-August, though. Could the 49ers be facing a similar challenge with linebacker Fred Warner, who is preparing to enter the final year of his rookie deal? Obviously, general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan would prefer to lock up their young defensive star for the foreseeable future, and they expect that to happen. That doesn't mean extending Warner will be easy. The 49ers will need to reward the linebacker financially while juggling the complexities of a shrinking salary cap. "We talk about challenges, and those challenges are there,"
