LG Alex Boone injured against Browns

San Francisco 49ers LG Alex Boone went down with a knee injury in the third quarter of play against the Browns in Cleveland. Marcus Martin entered the game to replace him.


The medical staff appeared to be looking at Boone's right knee/leg. He was able to walk off of the field under his own power.


Boone went into the locker room with the 49ers medical staff for further observation. He has been reported as out for the remainder of the game.


Boone grew up in the Cleveland area and played college football at Ohio State.

49ers place JaMycal Hasty, Johnathan Cyprien, Jared Mayden on injured reserve

The San Francisco 49ers have officially placed running back JaMycal Hasty and safety Johnathan Cyprien on injured reserve. Hasty suffered a broken collarbone during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 27-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Hasty will have surgery and is done for the season. Cyprien suffered a hamstring injury. San Francisco signed Hasty as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor in April. He started the season on the practice squad but was promoted to the active roster on September 26. Hasty finished the season with 39 carries for 148 yards with a rushing

Alex Smith is set to make his first start since suffering a gruesome and life-threatening leg injury on November 18, 2018. The story of the Washington quarterback, who started his career with the San Francisco 49ers, has been an inspiration. Many fans across the NFL landscape will be pulling for Smith on Sunday when the Washington Football Team faces the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. One of those fans is 49ers left tackle Trent Williams, who played with Smith in 2018. He joined KNBR on Thursday night and was asked about his former teammate.
