49ers move today’s practice to nearby practice field

Aug 3, 2015 at 11:11 AM--

Like their first two practices, the San Francisco 49ers had been scheduled to conduct today's practice at Levi's Stadium.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, the team has decided to move the practice to their nearby fields that sit behind the team's headquarters next door.

Just as it did on Saturday night, the Levi's Stadium field did have continued issues during yesterday's practice. The news of the sod problems has escalated quickly among the media.

The team remains committed to having their Wednesday practice, which will be in front of SBL holders, at Levi's Stadium.

Maiocco also stated that the team's next re-sodding will be after Taylor Swift concerts in mid-August.

Patrick Mahomes. Jared Goff. Carson Wentz. Cam Newton. Russell Wilson. What do these names have in common? Well, all of these quarterbacks were first-string quarterbacks on Super Bowl teams (Wentz was injured, but was QB1 on the Eagles). Most importantly, they were all on their rookie contracts during the year their teams made the Super Bowl. On March 26, the San Fransisco 49ers sent a boatload of picks: the No. 12 pick, their next two first-rounders, AND a third-round compensatory selection in 2022 for the No. 3 pick this year. Given the magnitude of the trade and the amount the 49ers gave up, many were questioning whether the trade up to presumably grab a quarterback was worth it for the franchise. Mac Jones versus Justin Fields or Trey Lance. That is the big debate when it comes to the San Francisco 49ers and the 2021 NFL Draft. While the latter two names are more likely to excite the fanbase, there is a lot of speculation that the former might be the pick at No. 3 overall. One former 49ers defender, cornerback Richard Sherman, doesn't assume it will be Jones, though. He actually sees Fields as the perfect fit for San Francisco, assuming Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson are taken with the first two selections. Cornerback Tre'Davious White, the most recent guest on the Cris Collinsworth Podcast, which Sherman co-hosts, also believes the 49ers will select Fields. It isn't easy to fathom that San Francisco surrendered multiple first-round picks and a
