49ers show frustration and concern with MetLife Stadium turf after injury-filled afternoon

By Kirk Larrabee

The last thing the San Francisco 49ers want right now is to play another game on the turf at MetLife Stadium after what they went through Sunday afternoon, but that's exactly what they'll have to do next week when they come back there to face the New York Giants. The 49ers were able to cruise Sunday to a 31-13 win over the New York Jets on the stadium's new turf, which was installed over the offseason. 49ers: Can Jimmy Garoppolo Continue His Success Against Arizona?

By Allan McBride

It was evident that the Cardinals' game plan was to take away the 49ers' strengths, and force them to throw the ball. Their strategy was effective, but the 49ers were up to the task, as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo led his team to two crucial

By David Bonilla

There were times when San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Kentavius Street doubted whether or not he would ever return to 100 percent. He suffered an ACL injury shortly before the 49ers made him a fourth-round draft pick in 2018. Street obviously did not play during his rookie season and continued to recover from the knee injury. He landed on injured reserve in 2019, but finally got an opportunity to step onto the football field late in the season after being designated to return. The 24-year-old defender has received rave reviews from teammates for his showing in training camp. "To be brutally honest, I was really starting to doubt myself if I would ever get back to 100 percent," Street told reporters on Monday. "It had been almost two years from
