According to an anonymous source, 49ers starting wide receiver Antonio Bryant has been suspended by the team for this Sunday's game against Arizona. The reason for the suspension is undisclosed.
If true, this would be the second time this season Bryant has been disciplined by the team. He was benched for the opening series against the Green Bay Packers for arriving late to a special teams meeting.
In his news conference, Head Coach Mike Nolan said that Bryant was excused from practice for "personal reasons." When asked if it was due to his arrest Nolan said “It’s just personal. Personal reasons.”
Former NFL defensive lineman Bryant Young this year will become the 29th inductee into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame. His name was among several former 49ers players listed among the 130 nominees listed for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021.
Linebacker Patrick Willis was among the 25 players listed as modern-era semifinalists in November of 2019 but, shockingly to some, did not make the trimmed-down list of 15 in January.
