CB Shareece Wright visiting 49ers

Mar 13, 2015 at 11:52 AM--

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, former San Diego Chargers starting cornerback Shareece Wright is visiting with the San Francisco 49ers today. There is said to be a lot of interest on both sides.

Wright was drafted by the Chargers in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has 123 tackles and an interception during his time in San Diego.

He became a starter for the Chargers in 2013. In 2014, he played 14 games, recording 60 total tackles, (54 Solo), and 10 passes defended.

The 49ers have lost starting cornerback Chris Culliver, who signed a 4-year, $32 million deal with Washington today. Their other 2014 starter, free agent Perrish Cox, is still visiting with other teams.

Wright: Deshaun Watson with Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers should 'terrify' the NFL

By David Bonilla

The San Francisco 49ers fanbase is decidedly split on the prospect of mortgaging an insurmountable amount of draft capital for the prospect of adding Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. Pro Football Focus laid out a hypothetical but realistic trade scenario for the quarterback that involved San Francisco shipping off its first-round picks in each of the next three drafts, this year's second-round pick, and Jimmy Garoppolo. As of this post, the results of our poll on the subject are nearly evenly split, with half willing to do that and the other half unwilling to give up that

The 49ers Must Pursue Deshaun Watson

By Brian Renick
Jan 10, 2021

The smoke that began rising on Twitter earlier this week about Deshaun Watson being unhappy in Houston has consistently gotten thicker as the week has progressed. Typically, where there's smoke, there's fire. The 49ers absolutely must pursue all avenues available to them to bring Watson to Santa Clara. He accomplished this on a team that was relatively bereft of talent on the offensive side of the ball, and was mired in a terrible coaching situation (Bill O'Brien was fired after four straight losses to start the season). Despite the dysfunction, Watson still led the

Saleh, Jets Could Thwart 49ers' Plans to Re-Sign Secondary

By Levin T. Black

The San Francisco 49ers don't have a secondary at this time. That's not an exaggeration. As of right now, the only player from the secondary to play significant minutes who is not a pending free agent is free safety Jimmie Ward. Here's a list of the players from the secondary who played at least 100 snaps in 2020 but would have to get new contracts if they were to play for the 49ers again: Richard Sherman, Jason Verrett, Jaquiski Tartt, K'Waun Williams, Emmanuel Moseley, Akhello Witherspoon, Marcell Harris, Dontae Johnson, Jamar Taylor. Only one of these is not an unrestricted free agent. Moseley is an exclusive restricted free agent, meaning the 49ers will be able to re-sign him if they choose to. As long as the 49ers offer him a league minimum contract, Moseley is
