NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the former offensive line coach of the Washington Redskins will be headed to the San Francisco 49ers as part of new head coach Jim Tomsula's staff.

He was the offensive line coach of the Redskins from 2010 through 2014. Before that, he held the same position with the 49ers from 2008 to 2009 so he is another guy that Tomsula is familiar with.

Earlier today, it was revealed that former Oakland Raiders defensive coordinator Jason Tarver would be joining the 49ers.

Today, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters via a conference call. His team is coming off a 28-21 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and fell to 2-2 on the season. Shanahan provided several injury updates from the game. The most discussed injury was to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who could not start the second half, giving way to rookie Trey Lance. Shanahan said Garoppolo suffered a calf contusion and will be re-evaluated on Wednesday. Even Jimmy Garoppolo expects to be sidelined for a bit. Today, an MRI will reveal the severity of his latest injury and how long the San Francisco 49ers quarterback will be out. "It feels like just the calf right now, but I'm hopeful it will just be a couple of weeks or something like that," Garoppolo told reporters after Sunday's 28-21 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Of course, a segment of the fanbase is welcoming a transition from Garoppolo to Trey Lance, feeling the rookie quarterback can spark the offense. However, don't assume that we have seen the last of Garoppolo on the field for the 49ers, though. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has made it clear that Lance is

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters today via a conference call and had some good news when it comes to the injury to offensive tackle Trent Williams. He did suffer a shoulder injury but is only considered day-to-day, and may not miss time. Surprisingly, another player who may be available for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals is quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who suffered a calf contusion during Sunday's 28-21 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He will be re-evaluated over the next couple of days. "It does mean he has a chance [to play on Sunday]," Shanahan said. "It wasn't as bad as what we thought it might have been. Seeing him today, he's in a lot of pain, still sore. Hopefully, by the time he comes in Wednesday, if it's
