49ers sign CB Chance Casey to practice squad

According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, the San Francisco 49ers have signed cornerback Chance Casey to the practice squad.

Casey was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played college football at Baylor University.

The San Francisco 49ers added a new name to their crowded defensive line Friday, signing free agent Tomasi Laulile to a one year deal. Laulile (6-3, 300, Brigham Young) entered the NFL as an undrafted signing of the Indianapolis Colts in 2018. He spent time on the New Orleans Saints practice squad later in the year after being waived by the Colts, then was with the Saints during spring workouts in 2019 before being waived in May. The 27-year-old totaled 47 tackles, five sacks and ten tackles for loss in four seasons at BYU. The San Francisco 49ers have signed defensive lineman Akeem Spence to a one-year deal. To make room on the roster, the team has placed defensive lineman Maurice Hurst on the injured reserve list. He sustained a torn biceps injury during practice last week and will undergo surgery. The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown. Spence (6-1, 307) was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round (100th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. John Lynch, 49ers "overjoyed" to sign Deebo Samuel to 3-year extension

Deebo Samuel officially signed his three-year extension on Monday. The deal is reportedly worth $71.55 million with a maximum value of $73.5 million, including $58.167 million that will become fully guaranteed on April 1, 2023.
