There were undoubtedly mixed emotions coming from the 49ers locker room after their 27-7 win over the Seahawks on Sunday. The 49ers played well in their one-sided win over the Seahawks, giving them the boost they needed after a highly disappointing loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 1. But the win came at a cost, as the team lost quarterback Trey Lance to what appears to be a season-ending ankle injury. Lance was on the minds of a number of 49ers after the game, as well as head coach Kyle Shanahan. His injury was tough to swallow considering where he is in his career and how much he prepared coming into his first season as the team's starter. The San Francisco 49ers avoided a catastrophe by bringing back quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on a restructured one-year deal. Trey Lance's season ending in Week 2 is disappointing. The worst-case scenario for this season would have been not having a quarterback capable of stepping in and keeping the team competitive.
