Boone will start against the Bears

According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, guard Alex Boone will be starting for the San Francisco 49ers as they face the Chicago Bears at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

He will start in place of Joe Looney. Boone had missed all of the offseason programs with the team as he held out for a new contract and more money. He did not play during week one against the Dallas Cowboys.

In the 49ers' playoff-clinching performance against the division rival Los Angeles Rams, not only did the team secure a postseason berth, but they set a franchise record along the way. Last Sunday, San Francisco received not one, not two, but three 90-yard performances from wide receivers—Brandon Aiyuk, who led the team with six catches for 107 yards, Deebo Samuel, who had four catches for 95 yards, and Jauan Jennings, who had six catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-tying TD late in the 4th quarter.
