According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area (and via Walter Thurmond III), Seattle Seahawks free agent cornerback Walter Thurmond III will be visiting with the San Francisco 49ers.
Seahawks UFA CB Walter Thurmond @WaltThurm3: "Now off to San Fran." He plays the nickel position.
Thurmond was drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. In his four seasons with the Seahawks, he has had 85 tackles, a sacks, 15 pass deflections, an interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and a touchdowns.
Thurmond is listed as the second best available free agent cornerback by Rotoworld, right behind Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
It will be interesting to see if the 49ers can lure away a top free agent from their biggest rival.
