A somewhat bigger-than-necessary deal was made last week when reporters saw San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance taking the first-team reps in the first practice of organized team activities (OTAs) open to reporters. After the practice, head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked what, if anything, could be concluded from that. "It'll even out," Shanahan assured reporters. "We'll make sure to get that right." The coach made a point to add, "And the first-team is kind of funny because there's no [offensive] line out there. Most of our receivers are second- and third-team on the first-team today, so I'm curious what everyone thinks first- and second- and third-team is." The 49ers also made Wednesday's practice open to reporters as the team

The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they are canceling the third and final week of organized team activities (OTAs) and moving up their mandatory minicamp to next week. The team's mandatory minicamp was initially scheduled to begin on June 13 and run through June 15. It will now begin on June 6, with practices at 10:40 a.m. PT on Tuesday and 10:50 a.m. PT on Wednesday. Both sessions will be open to the media. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and select players are scheduled to speak with reporters on Tuesday, and defensive coordinator Steve Wilks and players will field questions from the media on Wednesday. Initially scheduled to be a three-day minicamp, the 49ers will likely give players the third day off from practice, as they have done in

The San Francisco 49ers kicked off their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, which means defensive end Nick Bosa finally reported to the team. The NFL Defensive Player of the Year has been training in Florida and didn't participate in organized team activities (OTAs). He didn't practice on Tuesday either, but he was in attendance. Of course, none of that is out of the ordinary for the talented pass rusher. Wednesday will be the final minicamp practice. The team will likely gather for a family day on Thursday before breaking for the summer. Bosa is entering his fifth NFL season and will undoubtedly soon become the NFL's highest-paid defensive player. The two sides are working towards a contract extension, and the defensive end is confident that something

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston, the San Francisco 49ers plan to work out an XFL quarterback on Wednesday during the second day of the team's mandatory minicamp. That player is Jack Coan of the San Antonio Brahmas. The Indianapolis Colts signed Coan as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame in 2022. He was waived ahead of the regular season. The Brahmas signed the quarterback following the XFL Draft on November 17, 2022. #49ers are working out veteran quarterback Jack Coan
