According to CBS, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis suffered a groin injury in the second half of the team's game against the Indianapolis Colts. He will not return to the game. The 49ers currently trail the Colts 13-7.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the following roster moves as the team prepares for its Week 8 road matchup against the Chicago Bears. S Tony Jefferson signed to the practice squad DE Jordan Willis activated from the reserve/suspended list Jefferson spent part of the offseason with the 49ers but landed on injured reserve on August 12 due to a hamstring injury. He was released with an injury settlement on August 23. Jefferson, 29, has not played since Week 5 of the 2019 season when he suffered a torn ACL. 49ers starting safety Jaquiski Tartt exited Sunday's game with a knee injury.
