David Patten may attract interest from 49ers

Yahoo! Sports lists the San Francisco 49ers as one of three teams that Washington Redskins wide receiver, David Patten, may be a good fit for. The other two teams that it lists are the Kansas City Chiefs and the Chicago Bears.

However, the article seems to be speculating more than anything else.

From Yahoo! Sports:
Patten turns 32 in August, but he'll make an attractive and cheap option for receiver-needy teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers. And though he flamed out in Washington, that's more of an indication of a poor fit and an even poorer signing

While a wide receiver may be of interest to the 49ers, head coach Mike Nolan has already confirmed that the team is very interested to see which defensive backs are cut.

Seahawks ran unneeded play late in win over 49ers to get WR David Moore $100,000 bonus

There are times when a winning team running an unnecessary play with the game in hand would be something that falls under the category of poor sportsmanship, but it turns out the Seattle Seahawks had a good reason to do so against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The Seahawks had the lead and the ball with 22 seconds to play in their 26-23 win over the 49ers, which is a situation where teams would usually kneel on the ball to run out the clock. But they decided instead to run a short five-yard pass play to wide receiver David Moore, which left some observers confused. After the game, it was revealed the Seahawks ran the play for Moore so he could get a performance bonus of $100,000. Moore's contract stipulates that he gets the bonus for 35 receptions on the

NFL Draft Scout's Matt Miller, formerly of Bleacher Report, joined KNBR on Monday and discussed a topic that is sure to dominate San Francisco 49ers-related headlines until March — Jimmy Garoppolo. While many in the media believe head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch may keep their options open when it comes to upgrading the quarterback position, both have repeatedly backed Garoppolo as the team's starter heading into the 2021 season. "As for the quarterback position, Kyle and I both have spoken, and spoken fairly directly as to the fact that we expect Jimmy to be our quarterback," Lynch said on Monday. "That's consistently met with other stories, but

Mortensen: Most insiders believe 49ers will move on from Jimmy Garoppolo if there's a better QB option

By David Bonilla

This probably won't come as a surprise to anyone. If the 49ers have an opportunity to upgrade at a position, they will try to do so — salary cap permitting. That's pretty much a given, and head coach Kyle Shanahan has said that the team will always look to improve, no matter the position. That includes quarterback. "You can't say anything with certainty," Shanahan said last week. "I mean, you don't sit here and make promises on anything. When we build a football team, it's your job to put the best team together year in and year out." While Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have expressed confidence that Jimmy Garoppolo will be
