49ers news from Super Bowl XLVII Media Day

The Super Bowl XLVII Media Day was held today at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and his players were asked a number of questions by the media in attendance.

Here are just a few topics that were touched by the 49ers during Media Day.

Wide receiver Randy Moss said that he would like to return for another season, but won't commit to the 49ers.

Moss also discussed his legacy, saying that he is "the greatest receiver to ever play the game." While admitting that this was a down year statistically for him, he more looks at the impact he has on the field.

Strong safety Donte Whitner said that the 49ers are still trying to iron out the kinks in the preparation for the Baltimore Ravens. He is confident that the team will be as prepared as they can once they hit the field on Sunday.

Tight end Vernon Davis said that he and quarterback Colin Kaepernick have built some chemistry. Last month, Davis said that it was a lack of chemistry with the new quarterback that caused his drop in production.

Quarterback Alex Smith touched on his future a little bit, saying that he is excited for his next opportunity ... wherever that comes. He wants to be an NFL starter again and many feel that the 49ers will try to trade him during the offseason.

Michael Crabtree discussed his rise in production with Colin Kaepernick at quarterback. While he was careful to to say anything negative about quarterback Alex Smith, he did say, "You can be the best receiver in the world. If you don't have a quarterback ... those talents won't be seen."

Head coach Jim Harbaugh even quoted some Shakespeare on Media Day when asked about his brother, saying "For he who sheds blood with me shall also be my brother," referring to his team.

Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch address the media following 2020 season, discuss 49ers' future
