Shop49ers.com has a t-shirt with the 49ers new 60th anniversary logo on it. The 49ers first season was in 1946 making the upcoming season their 60th.

During the 49ers's 50th anniversary in 1996, the team wore 50th anniversary patches on their jerseys. Many teams make an anniversary an opportunity to add a patch to their jerseys. It is likely that the 49ers will also have 60th anniversary patches on their jerseys this season.

The team also has 60th anniversary hats available.

Cynthia Frelund names new 49ers CB Charvarius Ward among NFL's most underappreciated players

By David Bonilla
May 26

Analyst Cynthia Frelund took on the task of identifying the most underappreciated player for each NFL team. For the San Francisco 49ers, that player is an offseason addition—cornerback Charvarius Ward. Frelund used analytics to measure each player's production and contribution to a team's overall win total during the 2021 season. Ward's contributions last season were for the Kansas City Chiefs. Frelund admits that she typically tries to prioritize players who do not switch teams in the offseason. However, that proved especially challenging this year due to so much free-agent movement, so Ward's value in this exercise benefits the 49ers. Other factors like past salary, where the player was drafted, and a lack of NFL honors helped determine who is

The Niners have tried to trade the veteran, clearing the way for second-year quarterback Trey Lance. However, offseason shoulder surgery halted trade discussions, and the 49ers, for now, appear stuck with Garoppolo and his hefty salary. The 49ers have maintained that they are comfortable holding onto Garoppolo if they cannot strike a deal to their liking. Everyone realizes, though, that Plan A is to trade the quarterback for something worthwhile rather than letting him fulfill his contract on the team and leave as a free agent in 2023. Releasing Garoppolo would also net them nothing, aside from salary cap space. Holding onto Garoppolo might happen. Most of

By David Bonilla
May 16

In a move that was expected since last month, the Jacksonville Jaguars have officially hired San Francisco 49ers' vice president of player personnel Ethan Waugh as the team's assistant general manager. This offseason, Waugh was promoted from director of college scouting and football systems to his departing title with the 49ers, so the role was short-lived. The Jaguars have officially hired 49ers VP Ethan Waugh as assistant GM. Leaves the Niners with a more traditional setup—with Adam Peters as ass't GM, Ran Carthon
