During the 49ers's 50th anniversary in 1996, the team wore 50th anniversary patches on their jerseys. Many teams make an anniversary an opportunity to add a patch to their jerseys. It is likely that the 49ers will also have 60th anniversary patches on their jerseys this season.

It didn't go for a first down, but it was still an impressive one-handed catch by San Francisco 49ers tight end Jordan Reed. The ball came within inches of the ground and Reed was able to get his hand on the tip and haul it in on the run. The 49ers currently lead the home-team New Orleans Saints 10-3 in the second quarter.
