"They are basically fielding the NFL All-Pro team": Where the 49ers stand in Week 3 power rankings

By David Bonilla
Sep 19

The San Francisco 49ers have now won 12 consecutive regular-season games, just three games shy of tying the 15-game record set between the 1989 and 1990 seasons. Sunday's 30-23 win against the Los Angeles Rams may not have been the prettiest of victories, but Kyle Shanahan's squad improved to 2-0 on the season and sit alone atop the NFC West. The All-Pro cornerback believes so. Which team does Sherman view as the league's best? That would be none other than the San Francisco 49ers, who went into Pittsburgh on Sunday and routed what Sherman considers a "really solid" Steelers team 30-7. What Makes the 49ers a Special Team?

By Wayne P. Brown
Sep 15

In Week 1, the San Francisco 49ers traveled across the country to face the tough AFC North Pittsburgh Steelers. When the 49ers lost the coin toss and the defense took the field, something special was unveiled in Pittsburgh. Though the team overall played well in their 30-7 victory, five specific players made the fans extraordinarily love this team. Brock Purdy finished the game 19-29 for 220 yards, 7.6 yards per attempt, and two touchdowns. Coming off of a repaired UCL, many wondered how Purdy's arm would hold up when the games counted. The quarterback was pressured, hit, and sacked in this matchup, yet he still found a way to lead his team to two touchdowns. Both of Purdy's touchdowns came in the first half and went to wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. His most impressive throw
