Earlier today, Adam Schefter reported that the San Francisco 49ers are one of three teams that are having early conversations with New York Giants free-agent wide receiver Mario Manningham.

According to Pro Football Talk, Manningham will visit with the 49ers on Thursday. The other teams that are interested are the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.

Manningham, who is 25, has spent his career with the New York Giants. Over four seasons, he has 160 catches for 2,315 yards and 18 touchdowns. His best season was in 2010 when he had 60 catches for 944 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Manningham was drafted in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Michigan and was a big part of February's New York Giants Super Bowl victory.

NFL exec on 49ers: "I just don't buy Kyle Shanahan moving up all the way to three for Mac Jones"

Mike Sando of The Athletic has been doing his rounds around the league, asking about the San Francisco 49ers trading up to the No. 3 overall pick to select a quarterback. Even with the top two picks considered a lock—Trevor Lawrence to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Zach Wilson to the New York Jets—no one is really certain about the 49ers' plan. There is speculation—a lot of it. Because of his history with quarterbacks like Kirk Cousins and Matt Ryan, many feel San Francisco traded up for Mac Jones of Alabama. Two NFL executives who spoke to Sando can see that happening. Whether or not they agree with the potential selection is another story. "I've heard they are really seriously thinking of Mac Jones and it would blow my mind,"

49ers' D.J. Jones: "Jimmy's my guy, and I don't want anybody to forget that"

They also still have Jimmy Garoppolo on the roster and have stated that this latest development doesn't mean a divorce with the veteran quarterback is imminent. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch expect Garoppolo to be San Francisco's Week 1 starter. He will likely serve as a bridge quarterback until the younger player is ready to take over the reins—assuming Shanahan and Lynch hit on the pick. Jones knows the NFL is a business. These decisions
